QA Analyst & Customer Support

ShipEarly is looking for a full time QA Analyst to join our Thunder Bay based development team. A key member of the team, the QA Analyst is responsible for ensuring software quality through continuous involvement in the software development process. The ideal candidate will use their organizational and logical skills in developing test plans and executing in a fast-past environment with rapidly changing priorities. Being a small but growing team, we are looking for someone who deals well with ambiguity and wants to own the position. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills, and a passion for quality assurance to help deliver high quality software that solves real-world business problems for customers around the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Translate requirements into conceptual and detailed test plans
  • Provide estimates for test effort
  • Create and execute acceptance, functional, regression, and exploratory testing (both manual and automated)
  • Log defects and assist development staff in troubleshooting/resolving issues
  • Contribute to improvement of quality process through use of tools and quality techniques
  • Be an advocate for quality throughout the development process
  • Troubleshoot software issues reported by customers and log tickets/bugs
  • Reach out to engage new prospective user sign-ups

Requirements

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in software quality assurance
  • Willingness to work hard every day, own the project, and keen eye for recommending more efficient ways to handle workflows
  • Prior experience working in restaurant, ecommerce, and/or POS solutions
  • Excellent creative, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency and understanding of modern browsers
  • Willingness to learn web test automation; Selenium preferred
  • Excellent judgment in test planning, issue escalation and release decisions
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • Proven ability to function effectively in a team environment

Assets

  • Experience with test automation, performance and/or security testing tools
  • Experience with Configuration/Build Management
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Working knowledge of retail terminology and concepts
